Thursday -- Settling in, Swimming, Playing in the Rain

The first full day was upon us and it felt so good to wake up and see the smiling faces of our most precious nieces. Madison is quite cunning in her morning routine as she wakes up before her sister in order to have all the attention. We sat outside on the screened in porch, drinking coffee and chatting.

We went for a walk and opened up the craft packages that Mimi had assembled for the girls. The girls made necklaces and laughed as their daddy stretched on the floor.

The new location seemed great for its proximity to many different activities, including the town of Helen, Unicoi State Park, and Lake Burton. We brainstormed about what we would do for the duration of our stay and planned on walking through town and getting some information.

In Helen, Georgia

Yes, it's real!

This day would be a nice, lazy day and we spent the most of it at the Unicoi lake, which was just down the road. The girls are truly fish and are satisfied to spend hours by any water. We all went in the water – even the Gran!

We arrived back to the cabin and the girls jumped right into the hot tub. Yes, water again.

We napped and then the rain came. Throughout our week in the Blue Ridge Mountains we had great weather. On a couple of occasions, the rain came in the evening and cooled us all down. This time, Savvy and Mimi played in the rain wearing their fantastic duckie ponchos.
